Luis’ extensive musical training began when he was just 7 years old. Living with his family in Guatemala, his parents recognized his passion for music and enrolled him at a local Music Conservatory. After relocating to Dallas, TX at the age of 14, he served as Lead Pianist for a Worship Team in Farmers Branch, TX. Four years later, Luis was asked to step into the role of the teams Music Director. Luis earned his Associate’s Degree in Commercial Music and Recording Technology from Cedar Valley College in Dallas, TX where he also had the privilege of receiving private Jazz piano lessons from Arlington Jones. Mr. Jones taught Luis the foundations of both Jazz and Theory. Luis went on to study at the University of North Texas where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Sociology and Anthropology. Luis has been performing for over 20 years with experience in pop, latin, rock, jazz, funk and contemporary worship music. As Executive Director for Createvation School of Creative Arts, Luis oversees curriculum development and business operations as well as teaching students. His passions outside music are sports, food, and building stronger relationships with his wife, family and friends.
