Creating A Music School That Fits Every Musician
by Luis Vasquez
Have you had a dream that is now a reality? In my musical journey I’ve encountered different approaches to teaching music but never seemed to find something that would meet people exactly where they are in their musical journey. In my research and experience with different music institutions it seemed to always be too much of something and not the other. For example, in my early years of wanting to learn piano, my parents enrolled me in music school but all I did was learn the music notes on the staff, boring right? Now, don’t get me wrong. That is important to know but as a young child it discouraged me from wanting to learn because all I wanted to do was to PLAY the piano. With that in mind I started thinking of how to mesh those things together and come up with a solid foundation and be relevant to every student in their journey. First, it is important to know how you learn.
How do you learn?
There are 4 types of learning styles:
Visual Learners prefer to see information. Auditory Learners prefer to hear information rather than reading it or seeing it displayed. Reading/Writing Learners learn best by reading and writing things down. Kinesthetic Learners learn by doing.
Which one describes you? We have developed a curriculum that allows us to teach our students in the style that best connects with them accompanied by our core values — Excellent Teaching, Relevant Culture & Values-Based Leadership — making the learning experience that much more effective and fulfilling.
The music school for you
Createvation is based out of one of the fastest growing cities in America, Frisco TX. We are focused on the student as an individual, not placing you in a cookie-cutter learning format. Research has proven that people learn differently, therefore, we cannot place every person in the same mold of learning. Our curriculum is designed to meet you where you are and take you to where you desire to be. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or advanced student, we are positive we can take you to your next level.
Breaking the mold
Creating the W.A.Y. has been a game changer for us at Createvation. The W.A.Y. stands for “Where Are You?” It is a music teaching curriculum that assesses where every individual student is in their skill level, then leads them in the “way” to becoming a master of their instrument. The W.A.Y. will give you skills for each level to check off as you learn. And you can go at your own pace! The W.A.Y. Music Curriculum will get you to where you want to be as a musician and will equip you to even write your own music too.
I know that you have countless choices at your finger tips of music schools you can enroll in. My friends and I have spent several years creating The W.A.Y. in hopes that we will not only raise up the next generation of musicians, but that as you embark on your musical journey with us, you’ll be able to see a marked improvement in your skills and abilities.
